the burke family

the burke family had me out to their wonderful spread for a shoot in the heat.. it was a fine indiana afternoon.. one that melts the soles right off your shoes but everyone headed out without one complaint.. thanks again and i hope you enjoy the photos! p.s. tell that wasp i’ve got his number!

jeff+emily

jeff and emily are great on both sides of the camera (yes they are both kick-ass photographers)!! this is by far the largest post yet and you will see why i just had a hard time cutting any out! it was beautiful from the little country church in the middle of the indiana corn fields.. to the dancing when the lights went up at the reception and off into the night with a sparkler good-by.. thanks for having us shoot and share with you two.

11 yearz together!

i wanted to give a little shout out to my wife jess from my molehill of a mountaintop and share her with the world a bit.. i was out on a run the other day and it was about 90+ degrees so maybe it was the heat getting to the old brain but anyway i was looking over the vast cornfields and i was thinking about how lucky i was to travel the countryside at this speed and just how perfect it is.. that got me thinking about the perfect life.. what would be the perfect life?

well to start off i guess i would be married to beautiful girl with long brown hair and she would be a yoga instructor.. grrrrr!! then we would have two boys together that we could hike, travel, and share our hearts with.. what would be the perfect job? well i would have to say photographer next to maybe olympic runner but i think you have to be good to do that.

so long story short.. i realize that i’m in the middle of my perfect life and i can often forget and take it for granite.. kids are loud and take a lot of time, money can be tight, and on and on.. we just go through all the things that you go through in life, the point is that it just depends on where i put my focus, if i focus on the bad it grows.. if i focus on whats good in my life it grows..

today i choose to focus on my wonderful wife, life, and the eleven years we’ve looked out in the same direction!

thanks babe!

these are some of my favorite recent pics of jess.. shot on sx-70 film (top) and 80 polaroid film (bottom)..
